Afternoon eKa Circle,
Ever since I was a very young child I was starving. Starving for knowledge of greater things. Hungry for meaning, deeper understandings – a seeker of things others could not explain to me. My dreams of the new world then interpreted in a child like fashion of terrors and deep mysterious things that I could not yet understand. So began a seeking everywhere… I found the Spirit of God actually as soon I stopped seeking in the external. Then the Spirit met me where I was- right at rock bottom-andΒ desperate. What I have come to realise is that you can only learn so much from this external realm and from others…the real knowledge comes as a the still small voice whisper. It must be a personal intimate journey.
Today while preparing my lunch I heard a gentle word and reminder to this. “What you have sought after externally has always been within.” Yes the still small whisper happens within. Holy books were written while listening to this same voice. You have access to the same “whisper” the silver cord to heavenly realms.
Spiritual food; physical food…which one is more important to you?Β I am so grateful for my journey of tears and my seasons of being starving, for it is the pain that shows us what is really the most important. The journey within is how we find the Spirit.
Check out this beautiful meditation song called “As you will” that I stumbled upon today a “Shye Ben Tzur” cover by nesse gomesΒ translation is Β a prayer of faith and hope for these challenging times. How appropriate for these times of uncertainty. Music & Lyrics by Shye Ben Tzur.
Translation from Hebrew:
“Here I am completely yours, Do as you will with me.
I’ve come empty I surrender, My heart is at your mercy.
Even if everything is taken away from me, Within me I will hear your voice. From the pain, it will resurrect me and fill me with inspiration”

& of course my lunch recipes for those that seek the physical nurture and healing…anyone “hungry” cannot hear until they are fed. No wonder I was so drawn to food as a child. Be blessed.
I finished writing this at 3:33pm I think the Spirit is smiling.

Turmeric Fritters
Use whatever vegetables you might have such as you might use for tempura. I pressure cook my chickpeas and keep them in the freezer so that I have them on hand without too much effort for a recipe such as this.
1/2 cup shredded cabbage
1 carrot, cut into small pieces
3 florets broccoli, chopped roughly
1/3 cup corn kernels
1/4 cup cooked chickpeas
1 tsp ground turmeric
3/4 cup sr flour
iced water
pink salt & white pepper
oil to shallow fry
Mix the veg, chickpeas, turmeric, flour and enough iced water just to hold together. Season with salt & pepper. Heat a little oil in a wok and shallow fry large spoonfuls of the mixture until crisp and golden on either side. I like mine super crispy.
Veg Soup
1/2 small butternut pumpkin diced
3 carrots, sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
4 cloves garlic, crushed
a generous pinch of grated nutmeg
pink salt & white pepper
vegetable stock
1 cup roughly chopped white cabbage
Toss everything into a large pot except for the cabbage, pour over enough stock to cover the veg. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Add the cabbage and cook for another 5 minutes.
Green Chilli Sambal
I add a little freshly grated coconut to a small amount of the sambal for this meal. Store the rest of the chilli sambal in the fridge for up to one week. The coconut addition wont keep that long though which is why I add it as I go when serving.
1 cup of green chillies
3 cloves garlic
juice of 1 lime
pink salt & white pepper
pinch of raw sugar
Place the chillies, garlic and lime juice in a small spice blender or pestle and mortar and blend until smooth. Add the seasonings and store in an airtight jar in the fridge. Hot stuff- so delicious!
