Hi eKa CIRCLE
A huge congratulations and thank you to everyone that has joined in our 8 days of juicing. Tomorrow is our final day and we will finish with a rainbow juice that tastes absolutely delicious!
In my humble opinion there is nothing better as a pick me up than a fresh “homemade” juice. When I say fresh- I mean freshly pressed or blended as then you can be sure that the vitamins are alive and swimming waiting to hit your bloodstream and bring a power punch of goodness and energy.
Some days we blended, others we extracted, mothers day we had a smoothie for breakfast. It all helps us focus on our temple bodies. The goal is to feed ourselves every colour of the rainbow. If you would like to attempt this here are some suggestions on eka circle’s instagram.
Have you ever noticed that the colours of fruit and vegetables link to each chakra point? Something to consider. So if you feel the need to ground try the rich reds and earthy root vegetables. Need some love? Try lots of greens and pinks they are sure to boost and activate your light flow which is your blood.
The goal is to eat and drink the rainbow. To keep it fresh and natural and you will feel amazing.
Don’t forget to leave the skins on where possible- I extract pineapple with the skin, beetroot stems with the beet, carrot ends, whole apples with core, skin and seeds. Seeds are nutrient rich and so beneficial to ingest.
I try to make the habit to have a fresh juice everyday and the family kind of catch onto that and join in. It doesnt need to always be in the morning either as I love to practise intermittent fasting. An afternoon juice is better at giving an energy boost than caffeine and it is also a great light meal replacement at dinner time. Easily digested and satisfying. You won’t feel hungry when all of the nutrients are provided to the body the hypothalamus does its job and say “enough guys we are done!’
If you want a real boost try a three day juice “fast” I used to practise this at work with a friend and we would make a different colour juice every two hours and forfeit food for that time. It feels amazing and brings so many healing benefits to the body that it is worth doing regularly.
Some tips for a successful juice fast are:
- buy fresh produce that is affordable and seasonal, organic is best
- soak all produce in water with a little vinegar to remove any nasties
- plan your day so that you achieve your juicing goals
- do the fast with someone else it helps motivate
- use lots of fresh greens and herbs
- ice made using pure water always makes a juice taste great
- always make extra so that family or friends benefit
- compost the extraction pulp or see the extra tip below
- mix it up; try some fruit and veg that you haven’t tried before
- try adding some spices like cinnamon, turmeric, lemongrass, ginger, vanilla or nutmeg for an extra kick
Extra top tip- if you are extracting juice try extracting the vegetables first and saving the pulp before you add any fruit. Veg like beets, carrot, celery and spinach can be made into tasty fritters by adding a few eggs some seasoning/ herbs or spices and a little self raising flour. Fry in coconut oil until golden. Freeze any leftovers.
Stay hydrated and electric rainbow warriors. You are the sanctuary.
love & light
