Today I thought I would try another version of a face cream today as many have been asking for a restock of their natural moisturiser. This time I’m trying a natural almond oil addition to my coconut oil base. The base oils are then enriched with rosehip oil and scented with my latest obsession rose geranium essential oil.
Rose geranium is great for emotional stability, helps to alleviate pain, stimulates healing and enhances your mood. It is also considered to be very beneficial for reducing any inflammation. Assists with burns and wounds and helps to repel insects; sounds like the perfect addition to a face or body cream if you ask me! The best thing is the divine smell- you will love it!
Here is today’s recipe with a video “how to” below. It literally cannot be any easier than this. Whip the recipe after it is set in the bowl if you want a softer, fluffier texture. This recipe is also perfect to reduce by half if you want to make a smaller amount. Don’t forget to recycle your packaging to keep costs and waste down.
Rose Geranium Face Cream
1/2 cup organic coconut oil
4 Tbs almond oil
4 Tbs organic beeswax pellets
2 Tbs shea butter
2 tsp rosehip oil
20-30 drops rose geranium essential oil
Heat the coconut oil, almond oil, beeswax and shea butter until melted over a double boiler. Be careful not to splash any water in your oils. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool slightly. Add the rosehip oil and rose geranium oil and store in a jar or airtight containers.
