Hello eKa CIRCLE
Today I decided to use a lavender infused grapeseed oil that I made a few months ago using fresh lavender flowers foraged while on a picnic (please see blogpost on herbal infusions for the method). It’s been a bit of fun experimenting with instagram live to make some things on camera with just one take-ย I’m hoping to inspire you all to try creating your own products at home and share with your community.
Peppermint is a popular choice for headache relief; the Chinese culture uses is often, usually in a roll on or dab on oil bottle kept in the handbag for emergencies. Lavender is a stress reliever and assists well with tension so the combination of the two not only smells great but is a powerful duo to assist you with some relief.
Once you have mastered this simple melt and mix technique you can make all manner of balms; scenting them with your favourite fragrance.
Here are a few suggestions:
- winter balm
- lemongrass
- citrus
- clove (great for tooth or gum infections)
- frankincense
- chamomile
- honey
- rosemary
Peppermint and Lavender Headache Balm
1/4 cup lavender infused oil
2 Tbs organic beeswax pellets
1/2 tsp peppermint essential oil
15 drops lavender essential oil
Strain the lavender from the oil using calico or muslin into a glass jug or jar. Add the beeswax and melt gently in a small saucepan of simmering water. Be careful not to allow any of the water to get into your oil mixture. Stir the oil occasionally until the beeswax has just melted. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool slightly. Add the essential oils and pour into your recycled containers of choice. Use this balm on your forehead, temples, neck, feet and wrists to help assist with relieving a headache.
love & light
