Evening eKa Circle
On a recent trip to Morocco I was fortunate to find a natural crystal that is used as an all natural deodorant. It worked amazingly well! You simply dampen the crystal with water and dab it on. The natural salts in the crystal kill the odour causing bacteria. You wont find a better looking “roll on” than what mother nature has prescribed and the fact that I could effectively avoid aluminium based products really appealed. I have tried some purchased “natural style” deodorants before but have yet to find one as effective as this crystal. Alas it was left behind accidentally in a pretty bathroom, blending in all too well with the decor. I didn’t realise until I returned home. Hence the desire to try to find another natural alternative to the roll on that I have dangerously become accustomed to.
Tonight I attempted my first trial of a tea tree and lavender oil scented “slather on” I shall call it. Next time I plan to make a stick style deodorant by adding shea butter.
Here is what I did and the recipe. Let me know if you like it, and any modifications that you may make? I always make a batch and store my own products in recycled packaging. Then package the rest to gift to others.

M+E
Tea Tree and Lavender Deodorant
1/2 cup organic coconut oil
3/4 cup gluten free cornflour
3/4 cup aluminium free baking soda
1/4 tsp tea tree oil
20 drops lavender essential oil
Mix to combine. It was warm today so I did not need to melt the coconut oil. If you need to melt it do so just slightly over a small pan of simmering water. Spoon the mixture into small jars or little tins. Apply the deodorant using a wooden paddle-pop stick or your fingers if you prefer.
