Good afternoon eKa CIRCLE
Let’s discuss the 8 laws of health so that you can see where there may be room for some improvement this season? If you truly believe that you are a temple it is time to start treating yourself well. Each temple has the gateways air, fire, water and earth for starters this is an ancient knowing that also applies to nurturing your temple body. There is no better time than the present for a tidy up. Your body, mind and spirit will thank you.
*choose to activate faith- you are a spiritual being. Nurture that with some form of prayer, meditation and trust. Take time out each day to sit still and listen. Choose your thoughts wisely, you become what you meditate on. Start with a tidy up of anything that manifests in fear, control or manipulation. These are the opposite to faith activators.
*pure air- the air we breathe affects how we feel. Oxygen invigorates. Be conscious of the air in every environment you are sleeping and working in. Avoid any petrochemical room sprays, sleep with a window ajar, breathe deeply. Visit the seaside and the forest to chase those negative ions and be energised by the fresh air. Essential oils in a diffuser when you sleep or relax are beneficial as they assist the limbic system which in turn affects hormones, emotions, heart rate, memory, breathing and stress levels.
*sun soaking – go out in the sun for at least 15-20 mins of each day. Early morning or late afternoon is the best time to avoid those nasty UV rays. It is generally acknowledged that the first hour after sunrise and the last hour before sundown is the safest time. It is well documented that vitamin d formed in our skin is an anti cancer vitamin. Avoid wearing toxic sunscreens or sunglasses when having your daily top up as these block the absorption of vitamin d. There are also studies done on sun-gazing which directly affect the pineal gland as well as your serotonin and melatonin, the feel good hormones.
*self control- practise discipline in what you eat , drink, do and think. This will only benefit your health. Avoid processed and sugary foods, sugary drinks and excessive alcohol or stimulants. Choose organic, seasonal food that has not been through a processing plant. If it is natural you can safely say it is of benefit to your health. Take every thought captive and set aside what is not uplifting to your spirit. Choose balance in everything you do and seek accountability for any addictive behaviours.
*rest- the body requires at least 6-8 hours sleep to regenerate. Short 20-30 minute naps are also documented as highly beneficial for alertness without the after affect of feeling groggy. Power naps are amazing because you immediately enter stage 2 of the sleep pattern which is the stage of rapid eye movement. This is where short synchronised bursts of electrical activity can appear. I was sceptical of this but have trained myself to sleep for 30 mins with a timer on- you will be amazed at how good you feel and how efficient you will work after a short nap. Apparently the best time to nap is anytime between 1pm and 3pm. Give yourself a day off to recharge each week, a sabbatical so that you are not tempted to overwork.
*stretching and exercise- aim for at least 1/2 hour per day. 1 hour per day is documented to reverse issues such as depression and panic attacks. Consistency is key here. Body weight exercises are very beneficial for maintaining muscle mass and increasing the metabolism. Ground your bare feet on the earth, grass or sand each day for at least 30 mins to draw on some free negatively charged electrons your body will thank you for it and the free radicals will flee.
*water therapy- drink plenty of clean filtered water. Avoid plastics. Hydrate first thing in the morning with lemon water to alkalise the body. 2 litres per day is ideal. Remember that tea, coffee and alcohol dehydrate the body. They don’t really count as part of your water intake. A warm salt water flush is beneficial for a flush of the bowel. Choose pink Himalayan salt (about 2 teaspoons) dissolved in warm water. The juice of a lemon may make it more palatable. Avoid processed table salt at all costs. Salt water swimming or bathing is an incredible light activator. The positive ions in the salt and the negative ions in the water really do help us to pick up the vibrations required for good health.
* eat well/fast well- intermittent fasting is beneficial to health and well being. The latest studies show that allowing the digestive tract to rest for 16 hours offers all sorts of rewards for health and wellbeing. For the window of 8 hours that you do choose to eat -select organic, fresh food that is seasonal. Food preparation is key so that you always have healthy food on hand before you are tempted to reach for the not so healthy alternative. Try introducing as much raw food and as many varieties of food that you can. The brain chases after nutrients and this is why it is much easier to overeat processed foods. Eat and drink as much green food as possible to be alkaline is life. Green is life abundant.
